It was a day of great celebration as our church family gathered to witness the ordination of three new elders: Elder Alex Achoka, Elder Isaac Achokah, and Elder Agnes Omare.
The service was led by officiating pastor Dr. Gene Donaldson, hosted by Pastor Moses Njuguna. Dr. Donaldson opened the ordination with a brief message to the three ordinands, encouraging them in the calling ahead of them, before leading them in prayer. As the seated ordinands were anointed, Pastor Moses Njuguna and the church’s other ordained elders gathered around them, laying hands on each one in a moving moment of consecration and blessing.
Following the anointing, Dr. Donaldson presented each new elder with a certificate and a plaque marking the occasion. The church’s elders then presented the ordinands with copies of The Role of the Local Elder, along with pins and additional gifts; a meaningful send-off into their new roles. Photographers captured each presentation, preserving the memory of the day.
The celebration carried a special warmth from our church’s prayer groups and ministries. The Nazareth prayer group blessed Elder Agnes Omare with gifts, while the youth ministry honored Elder Isaac Achokah with their own presentation. And the celebrations aren’t over yet; the Jericho prayer group has a surprise in store for both Elder Alex and Elder Isaac, and the Nazareth prayer group is preparing another surprise for Elder Agnes later this evening.
